What happens if my child arrives late to school?
If your child is late please call the front reception from the designated gate on 02890370114
Someone will come and open the gate and guide your child into the building.

Should my child wear a face mask?
DE guidance suggest that face masks should generally not be worn by children in school. We hope to keep children in their bubble for the school day. If you feel you wish for your child to wear a mask, please also send them with a sealable bag to put their mask into when they are eating.

Who else will be wearing masks?
The wearing of masks is optional for staff in the protective bubble. As a school, this week the staff have worn either a face shield and/or a face covering.

What can my child bring to and from school?
Children should come to school each day in their clean school uniform with a coat, bottle of water, a healthy break and lunch. We would prefer to have the children use disposable containers or paper bags.
Bottles of water can be sent in. Parents can send in disposable bottles or a reusable bottle with the understanding when they go home it gets washed immediately.
No pencil cases, lunch bags or toys are required in school.
Children should not bring in hand sanitiser we are able to provide this for them.

Who will be at the gate and what will happen?
The Mrs McFerran and I will be at certain gates each day.

We with the support of the classroom assistants and the Building Supervisors, we will guide your child into the building. Parents should not enter the school grounds. Parents adhere to social distancing and once your child has been dropped off your should leave. If there is a problem we will call you. Please do not arrive earlier or later than your designated time.

When children enter the building, they will sanitise their hands before walking to their classroom. This is the protective bubble they will stay in throughout the day.

What is a bubble?
This will be each class in a protective space. In our school the pods or bubbles will mean that children may not see their siblings or their friends from other classes.

Instead of relying on social distancing, the aim of these bubbles is to limit the points at which the infection could be spread.

This is by keeping pupils in separate, isolated groups throughout the school day, with their own breaks and lunchtimes.

Regular hand-washing will also take place, but temperature checks, either for staff or pupils. We expect parents NOT to send any child who is sick.  However, if a pupil does show coronavirus symptoms, then parents will have to collect their child.

Is Seaview a safe place?
Seaview will be as COVID secure as we can make it. Our cleaning team will be working throughout the school day to ensure we are on top of hygiene. We have a risk assessment and protocols for all staff to make sure we all stay safe.

What is my responsibility as a parent or carer?
We all need to work together to make our school and our community safe. Parents are expected to complete this form prior to school starting.

Parent Protocols https://forms.office.com/Pages/ResponsePage.aspx?id=-yeCOETeDkaBkAVAK4mNqBmFzxqrv9RLkEUeN_ejNlFUMElLVzlEVk8xUUM0TUxBRTBIUVJWVkg0MS4u

During induction, many things will be covered with the children it is important you communicate any concerns to us. We want all he children back feeling happy and most of all safe.

What if I have lost my Seesaw QR Code or it is not working?
Please call the school office or speak to me at the school gate. It is SO important that all parents are on Seesaw. We are aware of an issue with Year 7 Ferguson QR Codes which will be rectified on Monday.

What about homework?
Yes. Home learning will be taking place through Seesaw or Google classroom.

What if a child displays symptoms of COVD-19 in Seaview?
A flow chart will be uploaded to the COVID section on he school website. This will explain what happens to the child and to the bubble if the child in question tests positive.

What about school attendance?
If children are healthy and well they should be in school. If they are not well they SHOULD NOT BE SENT to school.
