Seaview School choir visited the Grand Opera House on the afternoon of Tuesday 15th November 2022 with bright smiles and excited faces. Upon arrival, we were all ‘waowed’ by the impressive entrance to the theatre – it’s restoration and improvement work having been completed only recently in March of this year.
We were greeted warmly by our hosts Lucy and Aine who proceeded to take the choir on a thorough tour of the building. The children visited both front and back of house to learn both about the history of the Grand Opera House from its origins in 1895 under the creative eye of Frank Matcham to its operational features in the present day.
The choir really enjoyed their private tour and who knows, perhaps some of them might even get to perform there one day in the future. Well-done to all children and adults involved.
